Volunteering
We are very grateful to anyone who can give time to help nature restoration in Miterdale.
In order to restore a diverse mosaic of habitats we engage in a range of activities, and these change over the seasons. We try to give variety at all times, but some times of year are perfect for certain tasks. One of our biggest jobs is the removal of small sitka spruce with long handled loppers and Silky saws, to prevent competition with native tree species. In autumn / winter, we do a lot of tree planting across the valley. In spring and summer we do more species and vegetation citizen science monitoring, wildflower sowing and seed collection, and camera trapping. All tools are provided, and you will be shown how to use them! See below for more info and dates.
