Hardknott Forest is in the Duddon Valley, in the Lake District National Park. We would love you to visit the project to see the work we have been doing. The easiest place to access the forest is from the Forestry England Hardknott Car Park at Birks Bridge (Landranger Map 96. Grid ref: SD234 995).
Sat nav – The closest village is Seathwaite (Broughton-in-Furness) Be aware that there are two Seathwaite’s in the Lake District – and it’s 1.5 hr drive if you get the wrong one!
The closest train station is Foxfield.
Please get in touch if you need further details.
Advance notice: The bridge between Seathwaite and Hardknott forest will be closed for essential maintenance from 19 July to 22 August. Access to this section of the valley will be from Wrynose Pass or Hardknott Pass (both very steep roads). Contact us for more details, or if you plan to visit.
For information on where to stay and other things to do whilst in the valley check out the Duddon Valley website.
